Okay, first, the elementals on the ice flats. What kinda' elementals we talkin' about?
Arntta
►
◄
Well, with the air nexus being there, nearly everything is air or air hybrids.
Y'Drasl
►
◄
Kinds I've seen before on the mountain are Rime, Ball Lightning, and Graupel elementals.
Y'Drasl
►
◄
I can't help but notice two of you have fire tribe insignias, and one has an air tribe insignia... it's difficult to say how they'll react.
Y'Drasl
►
◄
If I had to guess, the Rime elementals will leave us alone, while the Ball Lightning and Graupel ones will likely be drawn towards the two of you.
Y'Drasl
►
◄
The closer you two are to any of the elementals, the worse you'll feel, I'd imagine.
Y'Drasl
►
◄
Do not fret! I do have a supply of bitter greenroot, which is a traditional treatment in the area for air aura sickness, but I have to warn you, I'm told it tastes absolutely dreadful.
Y'Drasl
►
◄
I didn't think that was native to the area. I thought that grew only near the nature nexus.
Sky
►
◄
Ha ha, is not not native to the area! I have a supply I imported recently in case any Fire tribe wanted to climb the mountain. And I'll give you a fair price for it!
Y'Drasl
►
◄
I'm getting the feeling you'll have more things you'd love to sell us as add-ons to our climb.
K'Sarian
►
◄
I've found many climbers will gladly pay extra for an easier time up. Can you blame me for being too prepared?
Y'Drasl
►
◄
For day two, you said there'd be some climbing to get to the lift controls?
Arntta
►
◄
Yes, there's a series of six mechanical lifts, usually powered by small crystals.
Y'Drasl
►
◄
If there's still crystals in the lift controls, I should be able to climb up and lower them for everyone else.
Y'Drasl
►
◄
If not, they'll need to be operated manually, which I'm to understand is, er, well, a bit of manual labor turning the cranks.
Y'Drasl
►
◄
In that case, the more of you that can climb up with me, the better, both for lowering the weight on the lift, and helping to turn the cranks.
Y'Drasl
►
◄
I do not have any spare power crystals, so we either hope they're still powered, or take breaks after each lift ride so that those that work the cranks can recover.
Y'Drasl
►
◄
That's why we will be covering such a short distance on day two. I thought it best to leave ample time for the lifts, just in case.
Y'Drasl
►
◄
And what can you tell us about the beasts in the cave?
Arntta
►
◄
Let's see... Cursetaurs and Harriers would be nesting around this time, Bighorn Jackalopes I know have had an increase in numbers last year, and then there's swarms of Hoarfrost Magpies around the upper parts of the cave.
Y'Drasl
►
◄
The Magpies will only bother us if anyone has anything valuable-looking. The Jackalopes should leave us alone, provided we don't encounter any wanting to impress a mate.
Y'Drasl
►
◄
And as I said earlier, as long as we don't appear to threaten any of the young of the Cursetaurs or Harriers, they should stay in their nests.
Y'Drasl
►
◄
It's possible we could come across some searching for food, which in that case, we either scare them off or bribe them away with food.
Y'Drasl
►
◄
They wouldn't be interested in the food we'd be carrying with us, so probably the former.
Y'Drasl
►
◄
What food would we be bringing with us?
Dia
►
◄
Butter! And lots of it! For weight to energy ratio, it can't be beat.
Y'Drasl
►
◄
There's many peddlers that will try to sell you their own concoctions and foods, claiming it will give you energy, but nothing beats traditional sticks of butter!
Y'Drasl
►
◄
No cooking at all needed! My family has an ample supply we churn, for the climbing season.
Y'Drasl
►
◄
Three different kinds of seasoning salts in them, as well! You all will love it.
